Origin, diffusion and economic characteristics

Mediterranean type chicken obtained from the ancestral Sicilian by selection made by the Americans and the British.
It differs so much from our Sicilian that it can be described as a separate breed.

Morphological characteristics

Crest: rather large cup shape.
Mumps: medium size, white.
Bargigli: rather developed, red.
Legs: willow green.
Beak: light horn color.
Eggs: average weight 45 g, with a white shell.
Livery: gold black bows, rare silver black bows.
Skin: yellow.
Medium weight:
- Rooster 2.0-2.5 kg
- Chicken 1.5-2.0 kg
